Comfort and Convenience
If you have ever had a crown put on one of your teeth, you may remember having to have a bunch of gooey impression material placed in your mouth and then having to wear a temporary crown for a few weeks while the laboratory crown was being made. During that period of time you had to be very careful so as not to make the temporary come off. That would’ve required another visit(s) to the dentist to have it re-cemented or remade. Those days are gone!
We have the equipment to take a digital picture of your damaged tooth or teeth and use a variety of digital technologies (Cad/Cam) to design a beautiful ceramic porcelain tooth-colored restoration. CAD/CAM stands for computer aided design/computer-aided manufacturing, and in the case of dentistry it means that you can receive your treatment from start to finish in one visit. Once the restoration is computer designed, it is sent wirelessly to a milling machine in our office that makes a dental restoration that exactly fits your tooth. The restoration is made from a solid block of strong porcelain (no metal). We then bond it (them) in place the same day. No need to come back a second time for additional numbing, drilling and prying off temporaries to deliver the laboratory product. It is a wonderful system that maximizes comfort and convenience for our valued patients while providing them with beautiful, long-lasting dental restorations.
"Dr. Norton gives the most painless injections I've ever experienced, and I've been to several dentists over the years! His work is top quality, and he spends time explaining what is needed and why." Cheryl T.
A CEREC® tooth restoration is not just convenient, it is also healthy. We can use strong tooth-colored materials to restore your tooth or teeth to their natural strength, function and beauty. These materials closely match the composition of natural tooth structure. This means when you eat hot food and then drink something cold, the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates. This lessens the chance of a fracture during the very torturing cycle a tooth endures with heat, cold and pressure millions of times. These materials are mechanically and chemically bonded to your tooth so that Dr. Norton can conserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible while providing you with a dental restoration that strengthens and beautifies your tooth. CEREC® technology can be used for veneers, inlays, onlays, and crowns to go over chipped or discolored teeth and in some instances can be used to make a bridge to replace a missing tooth.
With our office’s modern technology, we make getting a restoration a comfortable, convenient experience. Come see and experience the 21st century way to make a multitude of restorations for your teeth. To learn more, contact our office today.
